I met 25-year-old Faraz in a small cafeteria in a place called Abu Baqer. I asked him of some no-brainer questions but he can only reply through his head and hand gestures. He knows so little of English words but can speak fluent Arabic and Farsi.

According to his Pakistani colleague, Faraz usually makes 600 to 800 pieces of paratha (flatbread) every day and sells them to Patan and Indian customers for 1 dirham each.

I asked his friend if Faraz is staying with his family in Dubai and he revealed to me his story: Six months ago, his father found Faraz in this exact place after a year of hide and seek. His colleague told me that Faraz left their place in Iran with a heavy heart because his paren

ts did not giveh him the liberty to marry a girl of his dream.

His father, who is a plant engineer, stayed in Dubai for 3 days to witness how Faraz was surviving his difficult life but failed to convince his son to go home to their country. Faraz asked his father to leave him alone and he is now happy living with his new-found Pakistani friends.

His dad left him with 150,000 dirhams but Faraz refused to accept the money and chose to be a bread maker. He makes 78 dirhams per day.
